There’s a thin line between revenge and redemption…
The Nation of Zoi is on the brink of civil war, but this is of no concern to Lorelai, a spy who wields seduction and thievery to get information. But after a mission goes sideways, she is betrayed and executed by Zoi's leaders. God offers Lorelai a second chance at life in exchange for one last mission: save the nation that killed her.
Resurrected from her grave, Lorelai discovers her new god-given powers. Despite her new abilities and inherent distrust of others, she realizes she can't save the nation alone. She hesitantly forms a band of misfits, including a self-righteous historian, an exiled leader, and a fallen angel. But everyone has different motives, and Lorelai questions them all.
All the while, a malevolent darkness seeps into the nation, corrupting the people and threatening the future of Zoi. Lorelai must put away her distrust, confront her past, and fight against a powerful enemy to fulfill her divine mission and live.
Months after the Rebellion, the Nation of Zoi faces war from enemies inside and outside their nation. The king of Philonia vows to destroy the Nation of Zoi, forcing Lorelai to rely on the power of The Covenant to save Zoi once again. She not only fights against Philonia, but also Aeron, the Demon of Darkness, who has a personal claim on her life.
Meanwhile, Anthro, the Keeper of History, is haunted by nightmares of Lorelai's death. As war looms closer, Anthro becomes desperate to protect Lorelai. Aeron tempts him with a dark power that can strengthen him on the battlefield, and Anthro makes a dangerous choice. Playing both sides, Anthro uses the Darkness to protect Lorelai while racing to uncover Aeron's weakness before she kills Lorelai.
Lorelai and Anthro battle soldiers, kings, and demons, not just to save the nation, but to save each other. In the heart of devastation, they are forced to embrace the inevitable truths: death before life— fall before rise.
