Meet the Author
Hi! My name is Jada Dorsey, and I am publishing my debut novel "Live" on June 7th, 2025. Live is a Christian Fantasy that features lots of anime-like fight scenes, relatable & flawed characters, and a message of faith that brings hope to my readers.
I've been writing since I was 5 years old. In May 2024, I graduated from Washington University with my Bachelor's in English and Creative Writing. I quickly became discouraged in the non-education world because it seemed like there was no place for my writing. Rejection after rejection came until I decided that I would create space for my stories.
I write what I wanted to read when I was younger. I create characters that look like me and who share my faith. I write to give hope and light to my readers.
Feel free to look around. It's nice to meet you!

My writing journey started when I was super young. The first step to becoming a writer is to be a reader. Since I was three, my mom would take me to the library every week for us to pick out books to read together. I was five when I took printer paper, glue, and markers and made my first “book” about princesses and villains. I finished my first novel on Wattpad when I was twelve, and completed my second novel when I was nineteen. I’m grateful to constantly be in environments where my creativity and writing is encouraged. It made me into the writer I am today.

Hmm, a lot of things. First, and perhaps the most obvious, is the Book of Judges in the Old Testament. I loved how God empowered one individual to save the whole nation. It didn’t matter if they were perfect. And also around the time I was drafting Live, Avengers Endgame came out, and I was absolutely enamored with the whole series. I’m also a huge anime fan, and the fight scenes in anime are absolutely unparalleled. The way they take the protagonist to their lowest point just to let them come back and win the fight in the most epic of ways is such an art. I’ve never read a Christian fantasy book that had the fight scenes of an anime but the spirituality of Judges, so I decided to write one.

The sequel to Live. Just since you’ve read this far, I’ll give you the details. “The Blood of Zoi” series will be a trilogy with each book titled Live, Die, and Rise. Right now, I’m on Die.

The Girl Who Could Fly. I bought it at a book fair when I was in elementary school. I cry every time I read it. Very nice book.

“Thrilling, action packed message of hope and redemption.”
